Cuban Embassy in Guyana holds activity with Cuban residents.

Guyana, Georgetown, December 31st, 2023. A representation of Cuban residents in Guyana of various generations held an activity at the Embassy, ​​an occasion that allowed them to evaluate various exchange initiatives at the local level and with our Homeland, as part of the continuous strengthening of ties between Cuba and its nationals abroad; result of the broad and frank dialogue, fostered by the positive results of the IV Conference “The Nation and Emigration” held in Havana on November 18 and 19, 2023.

Guyana sends a congratulatory message to Cuba on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Revolution

Guyana, Georgetown, December 30th, 2023. Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of International Relations and International Cooperation of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana sent a congratulatory message to the people of Cuba on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution. The message highlighted the strength of the bilateral ties between both nations and the commitment to continue promoting international cooperation.

 

Cuba will strengthen medical cooperation in Guyana in 2024

Guyana,Georgetown, December 29, 2023.The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana asked Cuba to expand the number of health professionals in the nursing specialty due to the need for workers in that sector that the brother Caribbean country has. During the year 2023, 80 Cuban nurses were hired and according to the statements of the Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, another 200 will arrive in Guyana at the beginning of 2024. Cuba will continue to strengthen international medical cooperation with the purpose of saving and improving the quality of life of the Guyanese people.

The Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba published this December 7, Resolution 19/2023 of the Ministry of the Interior, referring to the National List of people and entities that have been subjected to criminal investigations and are wanted by the Cuban authorities, as of their involvement in the promotion, planning, organization, financing, support or commission of acts carried out in the national territory or other countries. The regulatory provision includes perpetrators of terrorist acts against Cuba from 1999 to the present.

December 8, 2023: 51st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Guyana.

Guyana, Georgetown, December 8, 2023. December 8, 1972, marked the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Guyana. Today marks the 51st anniversary of those relations. The historic ties of brotherhood between our peoples and our shared Caribbean identity are ratified. Cuba will continue working with Guyana for the right to development on the basis of solidarity and cooperation. Both countries have reaffirmed the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
