UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People visits Guyana.

Guyana, Georgetown, April 25, 2024. A delegation from the bureau of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People carries out a working visit to Guyana.

During the first day in the Caribbean nation, the delegation was received by the Guyanese president, Dr. Mohamed Irfaa Ali, who availed the opportunity to reiterate his country's commitment to the principles of peace, justice and equity.

Prime Minister of Guyana receives Cuban electricity experts.

Guyana, Georgetown, April 24.The Prime Minister of Guyana, the Honorable Mark Phillips, led a meeting on April 24 between the Cuban electrical engineering and construction company, SIECSA, and Guyana Power and Light, Inc. (GPL), to evaluate Cuban technical assistance. The Honorable Prime Minister considered the exchange as an example of South-South cooperation between the two countries. For its part, the Cuban delegation ratified the commitment to assistance and cooperation for the development of Guyana and for the well-being of its people.

Cuban Deputy Prime Minister meets with FAO Director General.

Guyana, Georgetown, March 21st, 2024. The meeting was held on March 20, during the 38th. Ministerial meeting of the Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held from 18 to 22 March in Georgetown, Guyana. In the exchange between Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca and Director General (FAO), Qu Dongyu, the will to deepen cooperation for the development of agriculture and for achieving food security was confirmed.
