We gave a warm welcome to Dr. Carla Barnett, Secretary General of CARICOM who arrived in #Cuba today just as we celebrated CARICOM-Cuba Day and the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between four independent States and Cuba. Welcome to our homeland.

The Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77 and China at UNESCO demand the exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism

Paris, July 16, 2024.- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 and China UNESCO Chapters demanded the exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

Through a Joint Communiqué, widely circulated at this headquarters, the G77 and China and the NAM UNESCO Chapters expressed their support for the Declaration of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), issued on June 14 in New York, which demands the withdrawal of Cuba from the aforementioned list and the lifting of all unilateral coercive measures against the Cuban people.

Universities of Guyana and Cuba exchange on academic cooperation

Guyana,Georgetown, July 12th 2024. From July 5 to 12, 2024, representatives of Cuban academic institutions visited the University of Guyana, led by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Havana, Marta Milagro Moreno Cruz. The Cuban delegation met with the Guyanese Vice Chancellor, Paloma Mohamed Martin, and paid tribute to the victims of the 1976 terrorism act against the Cubana airlines in Barbados, before the monument that honors their memory at the University of Guyana. The exchanges between the Universities will establish development programs in the sciences and arts.

UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People visits Guyana.

Guyana, Georgetown, April 25, 2024. A delegation from the bureau of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People carries out a working visit to Guyana.

During the first day in the Caribbean nation, the delegation was received by the Guyanese president, Dr. Mohamed Irfaa Ali, who availed the opportunity to reiterate his country's commitment to the principles of peace, justice and equity.
