Cubans residents in Indonesia hold a friendly meeting

Indonesia, February 18, 2016. A representation of Cubans residents in Indonesia held a friendly meeting at the Diplomatic Mission of our country in this capital, on the occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution and the 164th Anniversary of the Birth of Jose Martí.

During the meeting they exchanged with the diplomats of the Mission about topics of interest related to the events in Cuba and they remembered anecdotes of their life at the homeland. The activity was enlivened with typical Cuban dishes and drinks.

Indonesia, February 8th, 2017. The Embassy of Cuba hosted today the first meeting of 2017 of the Group of Consuls from Iberoamerica and the Caribbean in Indonesia, with the participation of Mark Getchel Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The meeting chaired by Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara, who received Mark Getchel minutes before the gathering, served to update the Consuls on the main actions and challenges of the Organization in Indonesia, as well as to exchange information of interest to both sides.

Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara and the Director General for America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Anshor, held a working meeting at the Chancellery's headquarters during which they addressed the celebration of 57th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the prospects for the development of links in different areas. The meeting was also attended by the Director for North America and Central America Adam M. Tugio.

Today was celebrated the Commemoration next January 1st of the 58th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution with a tribute to the life and work of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. The members of the Indonesia Cuba Friendship Association, the parents of young Indonesians who are studying medicine in Cuba, representatives of the media, universities and other friends of our country were present.

Indonesia, December 8, 2016. A representation on Cuban tourism and culture was present at the Tourism Expo held this day at Jakarta State University.

The presentation was assembled by Indonesian students and was one of the most visited during the Expo for being one of the most attractive and the unique representation from Latin America. During the rector's visit to the booth, he acknowledged the good work done by the students and recalled the great relationship of friendship between Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Sukarno.

Indonesia, December 5, 2016. General Secretary of ASEAN Le Luong Minh signed today the Condolences Book opened at the Embassy on the passing away of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. In his message of condolences, Le Luong Minh said: "The death of His Excellency Fidel Castro Ruz is a great loss for Cuba and for all those fighting for justice, independence, sovereignty and national self-determination around the world."
