This blockade was imposed by the US to punish the Cuban people for choosing a socialist path and as a warning to all small states that dare to act independently of imperialism.

At the meeting, in which the National Coordinator of Sinn Féin, Declan Kearney, also participated, different issues of common interest were addressed, both in the respective national spheres and in the international arena.
