Statement by the Revolutionary Government

On June 16th, 2017, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in a speech full of hostile rhetoric given at a theater in Miami, which reminded the times of open confrontation with our country, announced the policy of his government towards Cuba which reverts the progress achieved in the past two years, after that on December 17th, 2014 the presidents Raúl Castro Ruz and Barack Obama made public the decision to reestablish diplomatic relations and start a process towards the normalization of bilateral ties.
 

Diplomatic Academies from Kenya and Cuba strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Nairobi, June 15. The Foreign Service Academy of Kenya and the Higher Institute of International Relations of Cuba “Raúl Roa García”, took another step today in strengthening cooperation ties, as a Spanish language course for 23 cadets of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the African country was officially opened in Nairobi.

Cuban Ambassador to Kenya gave lecture at Laikipia University.

Nairobi, May 27. The Ambassador of Cuba in Kenya, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, gave a lecture on the foreign policy of his country in Laikipia University yesterday afternoon, attended by the management of the center of higher studies and by more than 200 students of different careers.

During his presentation, the Cuban diplomat paid tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, architect and principal promoter of revolutionary diplomacy and detailed the principles and values ​​that underpin it.

Kenya and Cuba signed in Geneva a Memorandum of Understanding in Health.

Geneva, May 23, 2017. In the framework of the current World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, the Secretary of the Cabinet of Health of Kenya, Dr. Cleopa Mailu, and the Cuban Minister of Public Health, Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, signed today a memorandum of understanding on health cooperation between the two countries.

Cuba participated in the 26th UN-Habitat Governing Council.

Nairobi, May 12. The 26th Session of the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) was held in Nairobi from 8 to 12 May 2017, where Cuba was represented by its Permanent Representative, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, as an observer member.
