Cuban Foreign Minister denounces arms race

The enrichment of the main arms manufacturing companies in the world and its negative consequences for peace on the planet were denounced this Tuesday by the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez.

In his account on the social network Twitter, the Minister of Foreign Affairs warned that according to international press reports, "the value of the 10 arms companies with the highest sales in the world, five of them American, increased by 18.1 percent in 2022 compared to to 2021”.

Cuban Foreign Minister recognizes support against the blockade.

Havana, January 6.  Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla recognized the support of the international community in favor of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States government against the Caribbean island.

He stated that during 2020, 159 States and 34 international organizations sent messages of support to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, for resolution 74/7 entitled “The necessity to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba”.

Cuban President calls to democratize the UN.

Havana, September 22. In his speech to the UN General Assembly, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said: “It is urgent to reform the UN. This powerful organization, which emerged after the loss of millions of lives in two world wars and as a result of a world understanding of the importance of dialogue, negotiation, cooperation and international law, must not postpone any further its updating and democratization. Today´s world needs the UN just as the one where it came into being did.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba intervened at the High Level Meeting of the UNGA.

Havana, September 21, 2020. In his speech at the UNGA High-Level Meeting to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, said: “ The irresponsible conduct of the United States is the greatest danger to international peace and security.

Monrovia, March 12, 2020 - The Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Cuba Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera met with the Advisor for American Affairs of the Liberian Foreign Minister Honorable Maxwell P. Vah, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this African country.

During the friendly and productive meeting, aspects of bilateral and multilateral relations were discussed and we reiterated our willingness to continue working for their further strengthening.
