Enforcement of the U.S. blockade in Argentina forces Cubana de Aviación to suspend flights

In March 2024, the company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales S.A. (YPF) of the Republic of Argentina informed the airline Cubana de Aviación of its refusal to continue supplying fuel to its aircrafts, in application of the United States blockade against Cuba.

Statement by the President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the Special CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government to consider the break-in at Mexico's diplomatic mission in Ecuador

Heads of State and Government and other representatives of the nations of our region,

On behalf of its people and government, Cuba appreciates and supports the convening of this special CELAC Summit, given the serious nature of the issue that brings us together.

Visit to the Sport For Children Foundation.

The Hague, April 17, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to the Netherlands, Ms. Anet Pino Rivero, paid a visit to the Sport For Children Foundation, which receives donations of sports equipment to be sent to sports facilities in other countries that need it and that enable training of children.

Ms. Pino Rivero was received by Mr. Jan-Willem Geurts, President of the Foundation, and was accompanied by the presidents of the Dutch Cuba Adelante Foundation and the businessman Andy van der Heijden.

Presentation on Cuba at the Utrecht University Medical Center

Utrecht, April 11, 2024. Representatives of the Cuban Embassy in the Netherlands visited the Utrecht University Medical Center  and offered a presentation to students and professors about Cuba and its public health system.

They explained the structure, composition and the main programs developed by the Cuban Health System, emphasizing in the Family Doctor Program, which guarantees access to health services for the entire population and implements the prevention approach that characterizes the Cuban medical system.

Experts from the UN Human Rights Council qualified the blockade against Cuba as a violation of International Law and the human rights of the Cuban people.

Havana, April 1, 2024.- The Special Rapporteurs of the UN Human Rights Council on the Right to Food, the Right to Development, Extreme Poverty and the Negative Impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures on the enjoyment of Human Rights, in an unprecedented communication, have formally described the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, aggravated by the country's inclusion on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, as a serious violation of International Law, including the principle of non-compliance.
