Cuban diplomats culminated meetings in the South Island.
Queenstown, December 23. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and Consul Dalila Vázquez ended today a series of work meetings in the South Island.
Since their arrival on December 17, they had meetings with businessmen, congressmen, local authorities, academics, journalists, members of solidarity groups, and Cuban residents.
It was the first visit to several cities in this territory and an opportunity to establish new links and expose the reality of Cuba, as well as initiate exchange plans for 2021.
Cuban Ambassador meets the Governor General.
Wellington, December 16. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés, held a meeting with the Governor-General of New Zealand, the Right Honorable Dame Patsy Reddy, during a reception offered to the Diplomatic Corps at the official residence.
The Governor thanked the missions for their support during this difficult year and expressed her good wishes for our countries.
In his exchange with the Cuban Ambassador and his wife, she became interested in the situation in Cuba, a country she visited a few years ago.
Cuban Ambassador visits flora and fauna sanctuary in Wellington.
Wellington, December 12. At the invitation of the Mayor of Wellington, Andy Foster, the Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés, participated in a tour of Zealandia, a beautiful sanctuary of flora and fauna in the middle of the city. Paul Atkins, CEO of the project, welcomed the members of the Diplomatic Corps and their families. We enjoyed lunch and a tour of the site in the company of members of the City Council. A very pleasant and enriching experience. Exchange possibilities are opened in this area.

Wellington, December 11. The Cuban Revolution is about to turn 62 years old, thanks to the decision of the Cubans to defend it and to the solidarity of our friends around the world.
To thank our friends in New Zealand, we had a Cuban party at our Embassy.
Members of solidarity groups, union leaders, and people who have opened doors for us to expose the reality of Cuba, honored us with their assistance.
It was only a representation, but through them, we want to recognize all those who accompany us in the construction of a better world.
Cuban Ambassador attends meeting with the Foreign Minister, H.E. Nanaia Mahuta.
Wellington, December 1. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended a reception in Parliament, offered by the Foreign Minister, H.E. Nanaia Mahuta, to the diplomatic corps, in which they said goodbye to the previous Minister, the Right Honorable Winston Peters.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was present, along with other members of the Government and Parliament.
The Cuban Ambassador greeted the new Foreign Minister and thanked Peters for the good communication he maintained with our Embassy.
