President of the Association of Ethiopians who studied in Cuba and now reside in Norway paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy

Oslo, April 26, 2022. The president of the Association of Ethiopians who studied in Cuba and now live in Norway, Tesfaye Korfil, paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy in this country to hold a meeting with the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres.

In a friendly atmosphere, in which the memories of the years lived on the Island brought out great emotions, Tesfaye expressed his eternal gratitude to the Cuban Revolution and the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz for the opportunity given to him and his fellow citizens to study and graduate from different specialties.

The Cuban diplomat said she feels great pride while confirming that Cuba has left a significant mark on their lives and that it continues to be a source of inspiration for them despite the years, as evidenced by the existence of the Association in a country as distant as Norway and the fact that they call themselves Ethio-Cubans.

The meeting left the commitment to strengthen the actions of the Association in solidarity and support for Cuba in the current context, marked by the intensification of the blockade and the unconventional war promoted by the United States government.

The Association of Ethiopians who studied in Cuba and now reside in Norway was founded in November 2018,  that is why it recently celebrated its third anniversary. With members in Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen, it maintains close ties with the Friendship Association with Cuba in Norway –Cubaforeningen i Norge-. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
