Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, preside over this 1st. May, in the Plaza de la Revolución in Havana, the parade for International Workers' Day.
The presence of the Army General had been announced during the closing day of the IV Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The member of the Political Bureau and General Secretary of the Central of Workers of Cuba (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, pointed out during the central speech of the act that in that historic Revolution Square «today the International Workers' Day is celebrated in a Cuba that lives and works from creative resistance».
He also denounced the effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, which influences shortages and inflation, with repercussions on the low purchasing power of wages and dissatisfaction, which is used by the Yankees to fracture unity around the Revolution.
He also made reference to the draft of the new Family Code and the Program for the Advancement of Women, keys to the social development of our nation.
Likewise, he explained Cuba's victory against the pandemic, thanks to the development of three vaccines (Abdala, Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus) and two vaccine candidates (Soberana 01 and Mambisa).
He added that the presence there of more than 1,050 supportive friends of Cuba reveals the support that the Cuban Revolution has throughout the world.
