Oslo, June 2, 2022. Leobanys Ávila Góngora, deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power and member of the Secretariat of the Central Workers´ Union of Cuba (CTC), held a meeting at the Embassy with members of the Friendship Association Norway-Cuba and Cubans residents in this European country.
Through his answers to the numerous questions that were asked by the participants, the distinguished visitor extensively addressed issues of the current situation in Cuba, including the control of the Covid-19 pandemic and the advance towards normality; the process of updating the economic model, and the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States. He also offered details on the organization and role of the Cuban trade union movement and its relations with the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). He also referred to the composition and functioning of the National Assembly.
The meeting, in which the Ambassador and the other members of the Embassy staff were also present, concluded with a call to strengthen the work of solidarity with Cuba in the current context. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
