Nassau, July 19, 2022. The Cuban ambassador to the Bahamas, Julio César González Marchante, held a cordial meeting with the Bahamian Minister of Health and Welfare Dr. Michael Darville. Dr. Lorenzo Pérez Sánchez, head of the Cuban collaboration in Health and the Permanent Secretary Colin Higgs participated.
During the exchange they examined the current state of collaboration between the two countries as well as the future perspective of expanding it.
The Minister of Health and Welfare referred to the positive work carried out by the Henry Reeve Brigade that arrived in the Bahamas last January to contribute in the fight against Covid-19, as well as the work of Cuban pharmacy professionals and biomedical engineers who they have been working in the country for several years.
The meeting was propitious to thank the most recent positions and declarations of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Philip Davis, in favor of lifting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government on the Cuban people.
