Kingston, 5 October 2022. Cuban Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez paid a courtesy call on the morning of 5 October to the Minister of Education and Youth of Jamaica, the Honourable Fayval Williams.
During the meeting, the Minister acknowledged the relevance of the work carried out by the members of the Cuban Educational Brigade in Jamaica. In this regard, both parties agreed on the need to continue strengthening collaboration in the education sector.
The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to thank the parliamentarian for her support for the motion against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba passed by the Jamaican legislature on 14 September and to denounce the effects of this genocidal policy on the Cuban education system.
