Copenhagen- The International Day of Mother Earth "Pachamama" was celebrated on April 22nd in Copenhagen between traditional ceremonies, speeches and cultural performances of indigenous people. The Ambassadors of Bolivia, Venezuela and Cuba to Denmark attended to the celebration, where they strongly called for global solidarity and unity to save humanity. The legacy of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez in the fight for a better and more equitable world was present in this event, which is celebrated each year after 2009 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that recognizes the International Day. The Bolivian President Evo Morales has been one the main drivers of that initiative in favor of Mother Earth to raise awareness of climate change and about the unsustainable use of natural resources.
