Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez paid tribute to the founding father of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The Cuban president and the delegation accompanying him visited the Atatürk (Anıtkabir) Mausoleum located in the capital, Ankara. Here he laid a wreath before the founder of the Republic of Türkiye and observed a minute of silence.

After the souvenir photo was taken, the Cuban president wrote the following words in the Notebook of the distinguished visitors:

"The Cuban delegation is here to pay its heartfelt respect and honor to Kemal Atatürk, founding father of the modern Turkish nation, whom Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro called an inspiration for the Republic of Cuba. As Cuban and Turkish peoples we share common values that are the legacy of the founders of both nations".
