Ghana participates in May Day Celebrations in Cuba

Comrade Alexander Nyarko-Opoku, First Vice Chairperson of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) of Ghana arrived in Havana to participate in the 2017 May Day Celebrations in Cuba.

The TUC´s leader was chosen by the Committee Executive of his organization to represent Ghana in the XII International Brigade May Day 2017. He is an enthusiastic member of the Solidarity Campaign to Cuba in Ghana.

The International Brigade May Day is organized annually by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People (ICAP) with the objective to join many friends of Cuba that come to Havana from different parts of the world.

In Cuba, comrade Nyarko-Opoku will be involved in an interesting Program that link productive activities with visit to places of historic and social significance, among them the province of Cienfuegos, and meeting with leaders of political and masses organizations (UJC, FEU, FMC, CTC).

Members of the Brigade will participate in the massive demonstration in commemoration of the Day International of the Workers, with the Cuban people and their leaders at the Square of the Revolution. Other important moment of the Program will be the International Meeting in solidarity with Cuba at the Convention Palace of the Havana.

The First Vice Chairperson of the TUC during his encounter with the Cuban Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, at the headquarter of the Embassy of Cuba, commented the possibility that in future editions, Ghana will be sending more people as an expression of solidarity and friendship with the Cuban Revolution.
