VII ROUND OF CUBA - CAYMAN ISLANDS MIGRATION TALKS CONCLUDED

George Town, 7 December 2022. The VII Round of Talks on Migration Affairs between Cuba and the Cayman Islands took place during the last two days, co-chaired by Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Director General of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Residing Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Gloria McField-Nixon, acting Deputy Governor, respectively.

Both parties reiterated the importance of implementing bilateral collaboration mechanisms, focused on the migratory and consular spheres, that allow for the effective confrontation of phenomena such as human trafficking and the illegal smuggling of migrants, while contributing to guaranteeing a regular, orderly and safe flow of travellers.
