Oslo, February 16, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, received the Norwegian poet Gunnar Wærness.
Both exchanged ideas on possible actions aimed at developing the relations between Cuba and Norway in the field of culture and the different artistic manifestations, particularly literature.
They talked extensively about the Havana International Book Fair, whose 31st edition is taking place these days counting with the virtual participation of Wærness (https://www.filhcuba.cu/blog/noticias-1/poesia-noruega-en-31-filh-287#blog_content).
Born in Trondheim, and currently living in Sweden, Gunnar Wærness made his literary debut in 1999 with the poetry collection Kongesplint, for which he was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas Prize, by the Norwegian Writers Association.
