London, 18 February. A large and beautiful Cuban flag was unfurled today in central Trafalgar Square, one of London’s most popular tourist spots, in a demonstration against the United States blockade on Cuba and economic sanctions on Venezuela.
Young activists from the organization Rock Around The Blockade (RATB), and members of the association Cubanos en UK condemned the criminal economic, financial and commercial blockade of the US against Cuba, whose tightening is constantly impacting the Cuban people. The blockade on Cuba is considered an act of economic warfare and is the main obstacle for the development of the Caribbean Island.
Facing the adversity of London’s weather, the demonstrators shouted Long live Cuba, Cuba Socialista!, and voiced the spirit of solidarity and their admiration for the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela, chanting in unison: The people united will never be defeated!
