Oslo, April 11, 2023. The Cuban ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, was received by the Minister of International Development and Nordic Cooperation, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.
In a cordial atmosphere, the positive relations of cooperation that have existed between both countries were extensively discussed, highlighting the leading role played on that by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). The different projects from which Cuba has benefited in recent years in several sectors were reviewed. Special mention deserved the agreement signed in November last year in Havana for the implementation of a new collaboration project in the field of marine aquaculture.
The Cuban diplomat and the Norwegian Minister also exchanged on the possibilities for expanding the bilateral cooperation to other areas of common interest.
Narve Solheim, senior advisor at the Secretariat of the Minister, and John Petter Opdahl, who is in charge of the desk of Cuba at the Section for Latin America and the Caribbean in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present at the meeting.
On the Cuban side, Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, second secretary of the Embassy, also participated. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
