Kingston, 19 May 2023. With the Marti's maxim to foresee, because in it lies the art of saving, the members of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica and the more than 400 members of the Medical and Educational Brigades working in this country participated in the exercise Meteoro 2023 to face disaster situations.
As part of this exercise, the management bodies of the State Mission specified their plans against natural, technological and epidemiological disasters. In addition, personnel received theoretical preparation and were trained in the practical execution of actions to be taken in the event of earthquakes, hurricanes, heavy rains, fires and epidemics.
In the summary activity of the exercise, Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez acknowledged the preparedness demonstrated to act in each situation and the usefulness of the experiences gained throughout the process.
