Kingston, August 8, 2023. In a cordial atmosphere, Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica H.E. Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, held a working meeting with Senator The Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of this Caribbean island.
At the meeting, which was also attended by other senior officials of the local Foreign Ministry, both diplomats exchanged on the positive results of the Cuban Presidency of the Group of 77 + China, while the Minister congratulated Cuba for the work done and expressed her confidence that it will make use of this platform to advance the interests and concerns of neighbouring Caribbean nations and small island states.
During the exchange, they discussed the ample possibilities for further strengthening bilateral technical cooperation in different areas, including the fight against climate change and agriculture.
The Cuban ambassador thanked Jamaica for its permanent support in different international forums for the struggle of the Cuban people and government against the US blockade and urged her to maintain it.
