Pretoria, 02 November 2023.- Our country presented between yesterday and today, for the thirty-first time, before the General Assembly of the United Nations, the draft resolution "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba".
An overwhelming majority of 187 countries voted in favour of the resolution, which has historically received this support, with only the United States and Israel against it, who have ignored for 30 years the just call of Cuba and the international community to put an end to this policy and the application of unilateral sanctions against Cuba.
The international community's call for Cuba's removal from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism was also widespread. In the words of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, "There is not a single valid and reasonable argument for Cuba's continued inclusion on this spurious list. Such action is inadmissible, particularly against a nation that is a victim of terrorism, which even today suffers the unpunished instigation of violence and terrorist acts from US territory, and whose conduct of firm rejection and persecution of any form or manifestation of terrorism is unimpeachable and recognised".
