Oslo, November 8, 2023. Responding to the invitation extended to her by the leadership of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), the ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, took part in an event organized to commemorate the centenary of that political organization.
The diplomat pointed out that it was an honor to participate in the celebration representing Cuba, a country that has not abandoned its conviction of building socialism with the greatest possible social justice, and where the Communist Party of Cuba, unique, Martiano, Fidelista and Marxist and Leninist, the organized vanguard of the nation, is the superior leading political force of society and the State.
She also thanked the NKP for its permanent support to Cuba, particularly in the current times, marked by the tightening of the US blockade and the negative impact of the inclusion of the country in the spurious list of State sponsors of terrorism.
On behalf of the Communist Party of Cuba and on behalf of the Embassy, the Ambassador conveyed sincere congratulations to the Communist Party of Norway, its leaders and all its members and followers. At the same time, she ratified the willingness to continue strengthening the ties of brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation.
“We wish you the best of success in defending the Party's guidelines and principles in the next 100 years,” she concluded.
Runa Evensen, president of the NKP, received from the Ambassador's hands a beautiful picture of the Cuban flag and a photo of her with the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, taken during the XXII International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties, which took place in Havana from October 27 to 29, 2022.
