Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations commemorate the Day of National Rebellion.

New York, August 1st, 2023.- Officials and workers of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, in New York, held a day in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, which included volunteer work and an act of celebration for the Day of National Rebellion.

During the event, held in this city, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Permanent Representative of Cuba, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, recalled the historical significance of these events that contributed to opening a new and definitive stage in the struggle of the Cuban people for the conquest of their full independence.

Peñalver Portal also ratified, on behalf of all the officials and workers of the Mission, the commitment to continue preserving and protecting the memory of those who gave their lives so that Cuba would be definitively free; an act of delivery, which, as President Miguel Díaz-Canel said in his speech on July 26, still moves us.
