Abuja, February 16, 2024.- The Ambassador of Cuba in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero participated in the Investiture Ceremony of the New direction of the Nigerian Film Festival for 2024.
During the ceremony she was invited to speak a few words on behalf of Cuban artists and culture that are so relevant to Nigerians due to the ancestral ties that exist between both countries.
In her speech, the Ambassador conveyed the gratitude of the Cuban people for all the wisdom and contributions that Nigerian culture permeated Cuban traditions. She highlighted the link between both countries, which began during the colonial period with the arrival of the first African slaves to the coasts of Cuba. Lastly, she extended the invitation to participate in the Latin American Film Festival that takes place in Havana, capital of Cuba, every year-end.
Third Secretary Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot was present on the Cuban side.
