Kingston, 29 February 2024. The president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Antonio Carricarte held a virtual meeting with the president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce Phillip Ramson, in which initiatives to enhance relations between the two institutions and jointly promote greater trade between the two nations were evaluated.
During the exchange, Carricarte highlighted the strengths and potential of different sectors of the Cuban economy, including the emerging new forms of non-state business management, while highlighting the negative impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against our country.
Both parties positively evaluated the importance of holding a business seminar between Cuban and Jamaican businessmen aimed at identifying new opportunities for investment, cooperation and bilateral trade, an initiative that could take place during the month of April.
The meeting was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez and the Executive Director of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, B. Larry Watson, as well as other executives of the business entity.
