Oslo, May 2, 2024. In the morning hours of the 1st of May, in the Nordre Gravlund cemetery, the Ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, took part in the traditional ceremony organized by the Communist Party of Norway (NKP) to pay homage to the militants that were executed and disappeared during the Nazi occupation between 1940 and 1945.
As in previous years, NKP seized the opportunity to pay also a memorial tribute to the Norwegian communist poet Rudolf Nilsen, who died in 1929.
In the afternoon, the Cuban Ambassador, along with colleagues from the Embassies of Venezuela, China and Vietnam, attended a social gathering at the main office of the Party in Oslo to celebrate the International Workers' Day.
In that framework, she read a message of congratulations and greetings to the NKP on the occasion of such a significant date for the world proletariat. In reciprocity, Mayo Bustos, a member of the Party leadership in Oslo, ratified the unconditional solidarity of that political organization towards the Cuban Revolution and its support in the battle for the lifting of the US blockade and the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious list of State sponsors of terrorism.
