Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica participates in the graduation of the College of Physical Education and Sport "GC Foster".

Spanish Town, May 3, 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica Fermín Quiñones Sánchez participated in the graduation ceremony of the GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, an educational centre donated by the Cuban people to the brotherly Jamaican people in 1980.

In his remarks to those present, the Cuban diplomat made a review of the most significant events in the development of sports education in Cuba, promoted by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, underlining the practice of sports and recreation as a right acquired by the Cuban people after the revolutionary triumph of 1959.

He also ratified the will of our country to continue strengthening the historic relations of brotherhood and cooperation that unite Cuba with this institution, despite the current complex situation faced by the Greater of the Antilles as a result of the genocidal policy of the blockade imposed by the US government more than 6 decades ago and the inclusion in the spurious and unilateral list of State sponsors of terrorism.

During the ceremony, 53 graduates of the centre, who successfully completed their studies and will serve in sports education in schools and communities in Jamaica, were recognised.
