Vientiane, April 10, 2017. Professor Eksavang Vongvichit, member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Chairman of its Foreign Affairs Committee, received today the Ambassador of Cuba, Pablo A. Rodríguez Vidal.
Professor Eksavang mentioned the excellent relations that have always existed between Cuba and Lao PDR, adding that the National Assemblies of both countries have not been outside such relations. He agreed that existing friendship and brotherhood should continue to be strengthened and therefore, cooperation between his institution and the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba should be increased. He further explained that in the 8th legislature of the Lao National Assembly, the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba had been restructured, being now composed of 11 members from different districts of the country. He finally remembered his time as Minister of Health when it was working in Laos a Cuban medical brigade and thanked for all the help provided by our country.
