Oslo, June 7, 2024. During the opening of the photo exhibition “The Great Inca Trail. Peru: Integration and Diversity”, the Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, once again had the pleasure of exchanging with several members of the family of the legendary Norwegian anthropologist and explorer Thor Heyerdahl.
It was very interesting to listen to anecdotes about the man who crossed the Pacific in 1947 on board the Kon-Tiki raft, told with emotion by his daughter Helene Elisabeth and his grandchildren Liv and Olav, the latter director and head of Projects and Development, respectively, of the Museum that, with the name of that historic expedition, seeks to spread Heyerdahl´s life and work, and preserve his legacy.
