Vice Presidents of Ghana and Cuba hold official talks.

Accra, November 14, 2023. - The Vice President of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Salvador Valdes Mesa, held official talks with the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Mr. Mahamudu Bawumia, at the Jubilee House this afternoon. At the meeting the local Vice President expressed “We are very happy that the Vice President of Cuba is visiting Ghana”. Bawumia emphasised that the relations between the two nations are one of deep brotherhood and friendship and are indestructible. He also mentioned areas in which collaboration have deepened and areas of diversification such as education and health. In this regard he expressed his confidence that they will continue to move forward to strengthen them further.

 

In turn, Vice President Valdés Mesa ratified the willingness of the Greater of the Antilles to “boost collaboration in sectors of mutual interest, especially in the areas of biotechnology and tourism”.

 

The meeting was a chance to discuss bilateral issues of interest to the two states, as well as to recall and express gratitude for the common support in the almost 64 years of diplomatic relations. Ghana was the first African state to establish diplomatic relations with the newly-born Cuban Revolution.
