NIGERIA, June 29, 2017.The President of the Community Economic Commission for Western African States (ECOWAS or ECOWAS, for its abbreviations in English), Marcel Alain de Souza, received in the day of today to the Ambassador of Cuba, Carlos Trejo Sosa.
The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere where they exchanged mutual interests regarding bilateral collaboration. In this sense, the Cuban Ambassador referred to the potential of the nation caribbean to participate in the confrontation of several diseases endemic in the region. The President of ECOWAS mentioned the possibility that vaccines can be produced in Nigeria and to extend it to the countries that make up the organization.
Marcel de Souza thanked the Cuban diplomat for his visit and expressed that this meeting would contribute to strengthening the collaboration between Cuba and ECOWAS.
ECOWAS is a regional organization bringing together 17 West Africa with the aim of promoting economic integration in all areas of activity of member countries.
