Cuba participates in the commemoration of Venezuela's National Day in Tehran

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Tehran called to commemorate the 206th anniversary of the signing of the independence of this Latin-American nation by placing a wreath in front of the statue of the Liberator Simón Bolívar that is raised in the capital park of Goftegú. The ceremony was headed by the Venezuelan Ambassador, Jesus Gregorio González González, and Ambassador Vladimir González Quesada and Third Secretary Junior Peñalver Quevedo participated on behalf of the Embassy of Cuba.

 

In the presence of executives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials of the Armed Forces of Iran, as well as officials from the Embassies which represent the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Peoples' Trade (ALBA-TCP) in the A Persian nation, it was proceed to pay well-deserved tribute to the Latin American independence hero. The opportunity was also taken to grant to Deputy Director General for the Americas at the Iranian Foreign Ministry and former Ambassador to Venezuela, Hojatollah Soltaní; Ambassador of Nicaragua and Dean of the Latin American Group (GRULA), Mario Barquero Baltonado; and Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir González Quesada, the Order of Merit Award "Estrella de Carabobo", in its Unique Class, conferred by the General Commander of the Bolivarian Army, Major General Juan de Jesús García Toussaintt.

 

In his closing remarks, Ambassador Jesús Gregorio González highlighted the importance of commemorating this historic event, especially in these challenging moments in Venezuela and Latin America in general. He also congratulated the decorated ones, whom he described as soldiers of the Islamic, Nicaraguan and Cuban Revolutions, respectively.
