Cuba presents strategy for beach recovery in Grenada.

St George, October 21 - At the headquarters of the Ministry of Climate Resilience, Environment and Renewable Energy (CRE), the Cuban ambassador to Grenada, Ivette Martínez, was received by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Peron Johnson, to discuss the implementation paths of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the CRE and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba.

The diplomat said that a delegation from CITMA headed by Vice Minister Adianez Taboada and Pavel Díaz from the company GAMMA, participated in the 2nd International Sargasso Conference in Grenada and brought a proposal for joint work and search for solutions for the main coastal challenges on the Island. The action plan contains strategic guidelines for the rehabilitation of Grenada's beaches affected by Hurricane Beryl, said the ambassador.

For her part, the official Johnson welcomed the proposal, which will be evaluated by the Ministry and presented for financing. She argued that the exchange between Cuban and Granada specialists will allow progress in local development and treatment of beaches and ecosystems.

Willingness to do and commitment to promote it were the final words of the hosts at their meeting. The collaboration between Cuba and Granada in the area of ​​environmental protection will have its first results in the medium term.
