Oslo, November 25, 2024. The 19th edition of the European Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba was successfully held in Paris, on November 23 and 24.
The event was attended by 305 delegates from 28 countries, including Olga Valentina Osses, member of the Board of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association (Cubaforeningen i Norge).
After taking part in the opening ceremony, Olga Valentina joined the work of Commission No. 2, which addressed the importance of the solidarity economic cooperation for the development of Cuba and as a tool to overcome the US blockade.
The event culminated with the adoption of a final declaration and an action plan to continue supporting Cuba in the midst of the difficult conditions resulting from the US blockade and its inclusion in the spurious list of States sponsoring terrorism.
During the Meeting, Olga Valentina had the opportunity to exchange with Fernando González Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), as well as with Rigoberto Zarza Ross, director of Europe, and Elizabeth Ribalta Rubiera, official of the Northern Europe Group of the same Institute.
Along with the other delegates, Olga took part in the public demonstration in solidarity with Cuba that took place in the Plaza Trocadero as the best possible closing for the event. (Embasy of Cuba in Norway)
