THE BAHAMAS, July 6, 2017.- In a modest and touching ceremony, the Cuban Ambassador in the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, bid farewell yesterday to seven Bahamian students who will travel to Cuba to study medical careers, as part of the scholarship program that the island offers to young people with scarce economic resources in different countries.
The activity was also attended by Bahamian students already graduates in Cuba, and the families of the beneficiaries of the scholarships. The occasion was appropriate to the exchange of experiences and anecdotes about the advantages of studying in Cuba and the high quality of the education on the island.
For her part, the Cuban Ambassador urged students to strive to the maximum and focus on their studies to return as excellent professionals. Likewise, she stressed the importance for his country that once they finish their careers in Cuba come back to work for the benefit of their communities.
As part of the event, the new students signed the Code of Ethics, which will guide their behavior in the years to come, marking the discipline to follow and the commitment to finish their careers.
