Cuba participated in the 15th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency

Abu Dhabi, January 13. The Cuban delegation composed of the Ambassador of Cuba in the UAE, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, and First Secretary Jorge Mazón Rodríguez, participated in the 15th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held in Abu Dhabi, #UAE, from January 11 to 13, 2025.

In its sessions and deliberations, Cuba ratified its commitment to contribute to accelerating the global energy transition towards renewable energies.

Cuba is a founding country of IRENA and since its foundation in Abu Dhabi in 2009, it has received projects that have contributed to the reduction of emissions and the optimization of the island's electrical energy system. IRENA continues to execute projects in Cuba.
