Harare, January 29, 2025- The people of Zimbabwe stand in solidarity with Cuba facing another U.S. offensive, states an article in The Pan Afrikanist today.
The hostile economic measures and the decision reincluding Cuba on the arbitrary list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism, it emphasizes, underscores the aggressive nature of U.S. imperialism.
These actions, driven by an obsession to undermine the sovereignty and development of the Caribbean nation, are a blatant attack on the peace and well-being of its people, emphasizes The Pan Afrikanist, a center for the restoration of African dignity.
In the opinion of its author Mafa Kwanisali Mafa, Zimbabweans recognize the resistance of the nation that has endured decades of economic blockade, slander and coercion, to emerge stronger in its commitment to socialism, independence and international solidarity.
Attempts to stifle its economy and break its indomitable spirit will fail once again, as they have for more than six decades, emphasizes.
The actions of the U.S. administration, particularly under President Donald Trump, represent a continuation of the hegemonic and arrogant Monroe Doctrine, seeking to impose dominance throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Zimbabwe, which has experienced similar efforts to erode its sovereignty through sanctions and external pressures, deeply understands the struggle of a beacon of hope and solidarity for oppressed peoples around the world.
The Pan Afrikanist highlights that from its unparalleled contributions to global healthcare, with the Medical Brigades, to its unwavering support for liberation movements in Africa, including Zimbabwe's struggle for independence, Cuba has always been on the side of justice.
He assures the ties between Harare and Havana forged in shared principles and history of resistance and -he affirms- we join the world community in denouncing the tightening of the blockade and the continuous aggressions against the right of Cubans to build their sovereign and independent future.
