An academic dialogue, between Cuba and Türkiye, that unites histories and cultures.

The Honorary Chair of History and Culture of #Türkiye of the University of Havana - UH successfully held the workshop “110th Anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli”, at the University Student House. 
An academic space where history, heritage and diplomacy were intertwined to strengthen ties between Cuba and Türkiye.  
The workshop, organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Cuba brought together academics, students and experts to analyze: the historical legacy of Gallipoli in the Turkish national identity, the transition from the Ottoman Empire to modern Türkiye, cultural diplomacy as a bridge between Latin America and Türkiye, as well as representations of heritage, cinema, linguistics and archeology.  
Mr. Servet Sahan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Türkiye in Cuba, highlighted the “exceptional academic quality” of the event and its role in “strengthening the friendship and cooperation between our nations”.  
Emblematic figures such as Dr. C. Elina Miranda Cancela, Dr. Reinaldo Sanchez Porro and Dr. Maria Elena Alvarez Acosta participated, who addressed archeology, geopolitics and Turkish nationality.
