Solidarity with Cuba reiterated from the Philippines

Manila, May 14, 2025. Friends of Cuba in the Philippines reiterated their solidarity with our people at the meeting held on the occasion of the visit of Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández to that Asian nation.

The solidarity movement with Cuba in the Philippines, represented by the Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA), the Philippines-Cuba Friendship Society (PCFS), and (AMISTAD) the Philippines-Cuba Friendship Association, held an emotional meeting with the representative of the Caribbean island, with whom they shared memories of their work over so many years in defense of the truth about Cuba and its causes, such as the return of the child Elian and the campaign for the release of the Five, to name a few.

The Cuban ambassador shared updates on events in the country and expressed her gratitude for the support, solidarity, and friendship shown to Cuba by the solidarity friends of the Philippines.

She also emphasized that the continued support they provide to the international demand for the lifting of the US blockade against Cuba and the removal of our country from the illegal list of alleged sponsors of terrorism is invaluable and a source of encouragement for our people.

The solidary friends expressed their gratitude for the scholarships Cuba has offered to Filipino students studying medicine.

In her farewell remarks, the Cuban diplomat expressed her gratitude for the many displays of affection for Cuba and the warm welcome that made her feel like family!
