Harare, May 29, 2025 – The Zimbabwe-Cuba Friendship Association (ZICUFA) today expressed its willingness to consolidate its support for the Caribbean nation.
ZICUFA executives held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, regarding the activities planned for the coming months to reject the US administration's measures against the Cuban people.
Comprised of Zimbabweans who are supportive and have graduated from the Caribbean country, the Association plans activities and various proposals focused on more tangible results amid the disinformation campaigns targeting the island.
They considered Cuba, the nation that welcomed them and trained them as professionals, a bastion of international solidarity.
The Ambassador, for her part, outlined the consequences of the intensification of the blockade that has lasted more than six decades and the measures to try to suffocate the people.
She also recognized the important role played by friends around the world in Cuba's battle to resist and emerge victorious.
Pérez Mesa also discussed the current state of bilateral relations, ongoing projects, and priorities in various sectors, in which, she said, ZICUFA members can participate based on their respective specialties.
Several members of the Zimbabwean organization participated online, while from embassy was also the Second Secretary Zailin Gaulhiac Morágas.
