Bindura, Zimbabwe, June 19, 2025 – The Vice-Chancellor of the Bindura University of Science Education, Professor Eddie Mwenje, received the Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Susellys Pérez Mesa, at the center, which has become a hub for bilateral educational cooperation.
Mwenje praised the contributions of the Cuban PhDs working at the University of Science Education and their contributions to the training of professionals, identifying new areas for collaboration.
The director announced the progress of several research projects led by professors from the Caribbean nation that should yield results in the immediate future at Bindura University, located approximately 90 kilometers from the capital.
The Vice-Chancellor, the highest authority at the University, and the Ambassador considered a likely exchange of students and the strengthening of research in the agricultural sector with projections for the national market and this African region.
Pérez Mesa reiterated the invitation to participate in the next edition of the University 2026 Congress, an opportunity to review the Bindura University of Science Education's compliance with agreements with its Cuban counterparts.
The Head of the Diplomatic Mission's visit included a tour of the Campus and, in particular, the Palp Technologies Plant, which will begin assembling electronic devices for use by Zimbabwean students.
The Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the Vice Chancellor's recognition and the institution's willingness to have new professionals in important fields, as a guarantee of training specialists for this African nation.
The fruitful exchange was attended by Dr. Isnel Rodríguez González, head of the Cuban Education Brigade in Zimbabwe, and Minister Counselor Luis Enrique González Acosta.
At the end of the tour, the Ambassador held an exchange with members of the Cuban education brigade in Bindura.
