Paris, 3 June 2025. The stand of the Cuban delegation at UNESCO’s Latin America and the Caribbean Week was honored by the visit of the Vice President of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca.
During his visit, Vice President Choquehuanca spoke with Dr. Rodolfo Arencibia, promoter of the UNESCO Chair on Natural Medicine at the University of Havana, his colleague Yisniel Troche, and Dr. Tania Re from the University of Salerno, Italy.
In addition to enjoying one of the herbal infusions offered by the Cuban specialists in this corner dedicated to Latin American and Caribbean biocultural diversity, Mr. Choquehuanca highlighted the importance of promoting the ancestral knowledge of the region’s Indigenous peoples, whose harmonious relationship with Mother Earth continues to offer valuable lessons.
Bolivia currently holds the presidency of the UNESCO Regional Group for Latin America and the Caribbean for this semester. Vice President Choquehuanca is visiting Paris on the occasion of Latin America and the Caribbean Week and took part in the opening ceremony of this regional celebration.
