First session of the Joint Economic Committee between the governments of Cuba and the United Arab Emirates

The first session of the Joint Economic Committee was held in Dubai between representatives of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting was a further step toward strengthening bilateral economic cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest, such as trade, investment, energy generation, the expansion of the use of renewable energy, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, transportation, logistics, creative and cultural industries, health, tourism, and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, while supporting the development of commercial alliances between economic actors in both countries.


The Committee meeting was co-chaired by Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, and Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates.
