Vientiane, September 28, 2025. At the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Sonexay Siphandone, reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade.
In his speech, he stated: "Laos joins the international community in calling for the lifting of the economic and financial blockade imposed on the Republic of Cuba, the removal of Cuba's name from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and the elimination of unilateral coercive measures imposed on sovereign countries."
Forty-three heads of state and delegations called for an end to the #Blockade in their speeches before the United Nations General Assembly. Nineteen called for Cuba's removal from the fraudulent list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
