Cubans residents in Malaysia commemorated the 173 anniversary of José Martí and demanded for Peace for Cuba.

The small community of Cubans residents in Malaysia held a gathering on January 31st in Kuala Lumpur.

At this meeting of compatriots, the historical and cultural legacy of our National Hero, José Martí, was commemorated on the 173rd anniversary of his birth.

Cuban and Malaysian-Cuban families shared phrases from Martí's ideology that demonstrate the validity of his pro-independence, anti-imperialist, and literary thought.

A quiz was held on interesting facts about the life of the Apostle, and from the new generations, the pioneer Camila and the young Daniela, a Cuban resident in Malaysia, recited “Simple Verses” of José Martí.

There was an exchange about the condemnable escalation of aggression by the U.S. government, which threatens the security and stability of Cuba and our region, and a demand for Peace for Cuba was made.
