Cuba participated in the Ministerial Round Table “Building Future Governments: Achievements and Challenges in the Global South”

Another important event within the World Summit of Governments in Dubai from February 3-5, 2026, was the Ministerial Roundtable “Building Future Governments: Achievements and Challenges in the Global South,” organized by the Latin American Center for Development Administration (CLAD).

Gerardo Montenegro, Director of Training and Development of Personnel at the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education, received recognition from Emirati authorities and spoke to highlight Cuba's track record in training its human resources to lead the nation and integrate it with the region, despite the persistent obstacle posed by US aggression, which seeks to undermine our development at all costs.

Cuba has played a leading role in CLAD since its founding. The organization reaffirmed its active role in global debates on governance and public administration, contributing a strategic perspective from Ibero-America and strengthening cooperation ties with organizations and governments in other regions.

The exchange allowed for a deeper analysis of state modernization, institutional capacities, administrative reform, and international cooperation.
