Havana, February 11, 2026. - The Bureau of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People arrived in Cuba this Wednesday on a working visit. The Delegation is led by Senegal’s Permanent Representative to the UN, His Excellency Ambassador Coly Seck, who is also the Chair of the Committee.
The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People is a subsidiary body of the United Nations General Assembly, established in 1975, with the primary responsibility of mobilizing international support for a peaceful, just, and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the two-state solution, and whose central focus is the promotion of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, national independence, sovereignty, and the return of refugees.
Cuba, renowned for its historic and unwavering solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people, is a founding member of the Committee and holds one of its vice‑chair posts. It remains firmly committed to contributing as much as possible to strengthening international lawful efforts aimed at putting an end to the genocide being inflicted upon the Palestinian people.
The delegation is also composed of representatives of several countries holding vice‑chair posts of the Committee: the Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Pendapala Naanda; the Deputy Permanent Representative of Nicaragua to the United Nations, H.E. Ms. Eleane Yaoska Pichardo Urbina; and the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, H.E. Ms. Daylenis Moreno Guerra. Accompanying the delegation are the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Riyad Mansour, as well as representatives of the Division for Palestinian Rights of the United Nations Secretariat.
As part of the program to be carried out in Cuba, the delegation will meet with representatives of the Cuban State and Government and visit places of interest.
