Solidarity with Cuba Reaffirmed During Meeting of the José Martí Cultural Association in Athens

During the annual meeting of the José Martí Cultural Association – Solidarity with Cuba, which this year commemorated the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the Greek people firmly reaffirmed their solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution, especially at this time when the brutal aggression of U.S. imperialism is intensifying, with the perfidious intention of economically suffocating the island by cutting off its fuel supplies.
The event, which was well attended, including Cubans residing in Athens, commemorated the 67th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution and presented the book "The Legacy of Fidel", published by Editorial Taxideftis, as a fitting tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The speakers, including the heads of the Cuban and Venezuelan diplomatic missions, the director of the publishing house, and representatives of the José Martí Cultural Association, reaffirmed the historic bonds of brotherhood between the Greek people and the homeland of Martí and Fidel. They condemned the criminal and genocidal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and once again demanded its immediate end.
Documentaries were also shown, and young people who were part of the last international brigade to work in Cuba last December shared their experiences of their stay and the exchanges they had with representatives of the Cuban people.
